Happy Mother’s Day, Bonnie!
Bonnie Brooke Mitchell is an accomplished and prolific artist whose work includes everything from fine oil paintings, meticulously drawn Christmas cards, Warhol style portraits, gigantic banners hung at her church, elaborate and visionary costume and scenic design, and the illustration of several books for children. She studied studio art as an undergraduate at Brown University and continued her path of creativity throughout her life serving her friends, family, community, and the general public.
Bonnie's most recent projects include collaborations with longtime friend Gary Brown. She provided illustrations for two of Gary's books for children, Willy of the Crooked Lake and Maggie of the Crooked Lake. Prior to that Bonnie illustrated the storybook, Catch the Moon, which accompanies the album of the same name by Lisa Loeb and Bonnie ‘s daughter, Elizabeth Mitchell. She also illustrated a coloring book, Storey’s Sunny Day Coloring Book, written by her granddaughter, Storey Littleton. Bonnie is a gifted songwriter, her latest song "The Nantucket Blues" was recorded by her friends, Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, one of the most celebrated duos of the American acoustic music scene.
Bonnie lives in White Plains, New York, and enjoys rescuing senior dogs and fighting for political causes. Let love win!
